No lifting of State of Emergency in sight

The MHP called to extend the State of Emergency, despite Erdogan's election campaign promise to lift it

Mustafa Kalaycı, MHP's Deputy Chairman, requested that the State of Emergency (OHAL) continue with the reason that the 'FETÖ' threat was still present and that the operation to occupy Kandil was continuing.

Kalaycı said: "The State of Emergency has not been declared just as a procedure, it was declared to get rid of terrorist organizations."

Kalaycı said that "the last point in the struggle with the PKK has not been reached".

For this, he said,  the OHAL should be extended for a longer period.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had promised to lift the State of Emergency while carrying out his election campaign.
