No permission to visit Öcalan

Turkish authorities have once again denied permission to lawyers for Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan to visit their client in Imralý prison.

Lawyers  Mazlum Dinç, Rezan Sarýca and Hüseyin Boðatekin appealed to the Public Prosecutor of Bursa who rejected the appeal saying the ferry operating between the mainland and the island was once again out of service.

Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leader Abdullah Öcalan has been denied meeting with his lawyers since 27 July 2011 (for 503 days) on the grounds of "defective coaster, adverse weather conditions, public holiday".
