Two of the police officers who put 14-year-old Y. D. in an armored vehicle on 21 March in Amed's Licê district, tortured him and demanded him to swear at the Kurds, threatened him with death if he did not memorize the Turkish National Anthem and then tied his hands and feet and left him to die in a creek swamp were arrested.
Police Chief Aykut Oral and officer Hayrettin Çakmak, who had been released, were arrested upon the objection of Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Number of police officers remanded in custody increased to 5
Following these two new arrests, the number of people remanded in custody increased to five. The previously arrested police officers were İsmail Akkuş, Emre Özcan and Gökhan Bay.
