Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s book 'Democratic Civilisation' was presented in Argentina’s capital Buenos Aires.
Latin American Sociologist and Political Science Professor Atilia Boron, the book’s translator Mahmut Çolak Zerdeşti and the Free Kurdish Women’s Movement Argentina Representative Soledad de Batista promoted Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s book Democratic Civilisation, printed for the first time in Latin America.
The event was held in the Centro Cultural de la Coperacion which also houses the most important library of Buenos Aires and was attended by important academics, political parties, unions and human rights organisations.
“ÖCALAN OFFERS REVOLUTIONARY SOLUTIONS IN THE UNIVERSAL SCALE”
Atilio Boron said it was an honor for him to write a foreword for Öcalan’s book and continued: “With this book, the Latin American reader finally has the opportunity to get more closely acquainted by the revolutionary Kurdish people’s resistance movement ideology. Öcalan offers revolutionary analyses and solutions not only for Kurdish people and the peoples of the Middle East, but in a universal scale. Surpassing dogmatic Marxism and offering the world the democratic confederalism model surpassing the nation state mechanism for the common emancipation of all oppressed societies, Öcalan is an example for all of us. He is the first leader to promote a similar concept with our struggle for a united Latin America and a common country in the framework of a Middle Eastern union. A model similar to the idea of democratic confederalism is used in the multi-national Bolivian state.”
“FIRST LEADER TO PRIORITIZE WOMEN’S EMANCIPATION”
Free Kurdish Women’s Movement Argentina Representative Soledad de Batista stated that Öcalan is, before all, the first leader to prioritize the fight for women’s emancipation against the patriarchal system. Batista also said that the gains against ISIS barbarity were made possible by Öcalan’s ideological analyses.
Translator Mahmut Çolak Zerdeşti expressed the following: “Presenting you with the first part of Leader Öcalan’s 5-volume work as a result of a collective and demanding effort that has taken more than 7 years is an honor. Today is a historic day, it is a historic event to present this work by our Leader to such esteemed attendees, the representatives of the heroic revolutionary peoples of Latin America. I would like to thank all friends who took part in this important and formidable translation and redaction activity once more. As our esteemed professor Atilio Boron said, Öcalan offers perspectives for not only the Middle Eastern peoples but all peoples of the world, as shown in this book, with comprehensive analyses. The nation state application no longer has a place in human history, democratic confederalism is a universal solution.”
The Kurdistan-Latin America Solidarity Committee Representative thanked SUDESTADA Publishing that undertook the Argentinean print of the book and all institutions that contributed to the release of the book in Argentina. The representative also informed the attendees on presentation meetings to be held in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay.
The book will also be presented today in Biblioteca Jose Ingenieros library at 18.00 local time by the Zerdeşti and Kurdistan-Latin America Solidarity Committee.
