Occupation of HDP municipalities protested in Vienna

Ongoing protests against the takeover of HDP municipalities by the Turkish regime.

Protests continue across Europe against the AKP government’s seizure of HDP-run municipalities in the mainly Kurdish cities of Amed (Diyarbakır), Mardin and Van.

Kurds living in Austrian capital city Vienna staged a demonstration promoted by Democratic Forces Union and left a black wreath in front of the Turkish Embassy.

Speeches held here called for sensitivity from the Austrian government and civil society organizations.

Demonstrators marched from Wien Westbahnhof to Museumsquetir chanting “Murderer Erdoğan”, “The fascist state will be brought to account” and “HDP is honor, reclaim your honor”.

Berivan Aslan, a former deputy for the Green Party, said that Kurds and revolutionaries were the nightmare of the fascist system. Aslan condemned the silence of EU countries and urged them to abandon their dirty relationships and policies.
