October 9 international plot to be protested in various centers

The October 9 International Plot will be protested in demonstrations throughout Europe.

The annual demonstrations led by the European Kurdish Women’s Movement kick off on October 5 this year like in previous years.

The protests against the October 9 Plot will be held in European Union capitals Brussels and Strasbourg on the anniversary.

The European Kurdish Women's Movement TJK-E issued a written statement on the protests and said the following:

“We greet the 20th year of the October 9 International Plot as an important year in the struggle.

The isolation system imposed upon Leader Apo with the special policy in Imrali is a system of torture against all humanity and all forces who want freedom.

The CPT, a partner in the Imrali torture system, has participated in this crime by failing to fulfill its duty and responsibility.

Our leader has been cut off from the rest of the world completely for the last 3 years in a horrible isolation. We have no information on him, his health, his safety or whether he is alive. As such, the ECHR verdict that claims ‘Öcalan wasn’t subjected to torture’ has been an admission of their ongoing partnership with the fascist Turkish state regarding oppression and torture.

We as the European Kurdish Women’s Movement strongly condemn the ECHR making the isolation permanent and creating a legal cover for the Imrali torture system with this verdict.

We are calling on Kurdish women, our people and our allies to participate in the protest against the October 9 Plot to be held in front of the EU Commission in Brussels on October 9, Tuesday.

The demonstration calling on the CPT to fulfill their duty and responsibility will be held in the form of a human chain. Folders will be submitted to relevant authorities in both protests.”

The protest in Brussels will be attended by Kurdistanis and allies from Germany’s NRW state, northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The protest in front of the CPT in Strasbourg will be attended by Kurdistanis and allies from Switzerland, Strasbourg, Mannheim, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich and Nuremberg and Southern Germany.
