Wrath of Euphrates Operation Room Spokesperson stated that direct close combat with ISIS gangs has ended in Raqqa city. She said SDF will make an official announcement of Raqqa’s liberation once mop-up operations are completed.
Wrath of Euphrates Operation Room Spokesperson Cihan Sheikh Ehmed confirmed that fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have gained control over all locations in Raqqa city.
Ehmed explained that; “Our forces have started mop-up and sweeping operations considering the probability of ISIS gangs hiding in some locations. In addition, mines planted by the gangs need to be defused to make sure that the entire city has been cleared.”
Wrath of Euphrates Operation Room Spokesperson, who is from Raqqa herself, noted that SDF will officially announce the liberation of Raqqa once mop-up and sweeping operations are completed.
