An election vehicle of the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) was targeted by an armed attack in Bingöl which left the driver, Hamdullah Öğe, dead.

The attack with long barreled gun targeted HDP vehicle on its way from Serpmekaya village in Karlıova district of Bingöl late Wednesday evening.

On hearing the gunshots, villagers informed the HDP executives and soldiers about the incident. The soldiers that came to the scene soon later started an investigation in the area.

The body of the vehicle's driver, Hamdullah Öğe, was found in the rocky terrain 50 meters from the scene where a number of HDP executives and members, including Bingöl MP candidates, have also arrived.

Investigation at the scene continues.
