Firefight erupted in Karaağaçlı upland in Maçka district of the northern Trabzon province at 08:30 Tuesday morning. In the clash that broke out during an operation of Turkish troops, specialist sergeant Osmangazi Çetingöz got wounded. He was taken to a hospital where he died later.

In a statement earlier today, Trabzon Governor Yücel Yavuz stated that “one-man firefight” broke out in the countryside of Maçka district and one specialist sergeant got slightly injured.

While the Turkish media claimed that Turkish soldiers engaged in a clash with PKK members, HPG or any other party has not made any statement yet.
