Siwedan, 25 kilometres north-east of Deir ez-Zor, has been liberated by SDF forces from ISIS after 12 days of heavy fighting.

According to a statement by SDF, 273 ISIS gang members were killed since the start of the operation in Siwedan. SDF seized four pickup trucks with DShK heavy machine gun, four military vehicles, a bomb-laden vehicle and several armaments.

The town was declared freed of ISIS on Tuesday morning while search operations continue in the area.
