YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) liberated two villages and 17 hamlets in northern Raqqa, and besieged the al Humir region where 5 villages are located.
SDF fighters advanced from three directions in northern Raqqa last night in order to liberate the villages and hamlets occupied by ISIS, and liberated two villages and 17 hamlets.
SDF fighters on the first axis liberated the Abdullah village and those on the second cleared 12 hamlets of ISIS gangs. The fighters on both axes liberated an area of 47 km2 in total.
The SDF fighters advancing from the third direction in the western flank liberated al-Kubra village and 5 nearby hamlets and to the northwest of Raqqa. Moreover, they cleared two strategic hills during their advance.
Dozens of ISIS members were killed during last night’s offensive launched from three directions, and the exact number of gang members killed has not been clarified.
SDF fighters started search and sweep efforts in the liberated areas.
With the liberation of these two villages and 17 hamlets, SDF has encircled the al-Humir region where five villages are located.
