Over 350,000 people rallied in Barcelona

Huge demonstration flood Barcelona once again on Saturday. Today trade unionists will march.

Over 350,000 people flooded Barcelona's Marina street to reject the sentencing of 9 pro-independence leaders to lengthy prison terms.

Spanish unionists plan to hold their own mass rally in the city today, Sunday.

Over 100 organisations from civil society, trade unions, political entities and professional boards supported the rally on Saturday.

When the rally came to an end later in the afternoon, many demonstrators moved to Via Laietana, where the Committees in Defense of the Republic (CDR) had called a protest in front of the Spanish police headquarters.

The rally on Saturday had been organised by the Catalan National Assembly and Òmnium Cultural.
