Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) Istanbul Women's Assembly is organizing a panel discussion/forum themed "Violence against women, gender discrimination, war and the experience of women in Rojava".
The panel discussion/forum which will take place at Şişli Cultural Center on 1 December, Sunday, will see three sessions. The opening speech will be held by HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) co-chair Sebahat Tuncel.
The first session which will witness a discussion on the subjects "violence against women, gender discrimination and conservatism" will be joined by lawyer Hülya Gülbahar, writer Ayşe Düzkan, lawyer Sevda Bayramoğlu and HDP Party Assembly member Esmeray as speakers.
"War, violence and the Rojava revolution" will be discussed during the second session which will also witness speeches by PYD (Democratic Union Party) Women's Foreign Affairs Executive Helime Yusif, HDP Central Executive Board member associate professor Nazan Üstündağ, lawyer Meriç Eyüpoğlu and Syriac Women's representative.
The last session will be held as a forum where all participants, including LGBT members and representatives of various institutions will talk about the violence they witnessed.
