People fleeing the Baath regime continue to cross into SDF areas

Thousands of families who live in the area to the south of the River Euphrates under Baath regime control are migrating to the Karama region in Raqqa liberated by the SDF.

After Raqqa was liberated under the lead of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), regional security and stability was handed over to Raqqa Domestic Security Forces. After security and peace was established in the Karama region of Raqqa, thousands of people from the area to the south of the River Euphrates controlled by the Baath regime have started to migrate to the region.

Derwîş Hebal, Co-chair of the City Council of Hamrat in the Karama region, stated that incidents like theft and looting are increasing in areas under regime control and added that 11.700 families from the area have migrated to the Karama region.

Hebal said they are offering aid to the civilians with all the resources they have, and called on international aid organizations for support.
