The invading Turkish army continues its attacks against Xakurke that started on May 27. The people in the region are protesting the Turkish state and the silence of the Southern government and stressing that they trust in the guerrilla.

“THEY WANT TO INVADE ALL OF KURDISTAN”

Some reactions from the citizens are as follows:

Kurdo: “At least 40 of our people have been martyred in Turkish state attacks to date. We don’t want the Kurdistan Regional Government to remain silent. We want them to defend our rights. Every year they bomb us with jets and artilleries. Our lives are in danger.

This year it is worse. The Turkish state has occupied some regions. We don’t want the Turkish state on our lands. They are harming us deeply. The Turkish state doesn’t want to settle on some hills, their goal is to invade all of Kurdistan.

They are destroying our homes, vinyards and orchards. They have killed 40 of our people to date. What has been done to us is a war crime. We are being killed every day. It is the same for us whether it is the guerrilla who is killed, or the villagers. We are not afraid of the Turkish state. Because we trust in the guerrilla and our people.”

“EVERY YEAR THEY BOMB LIVESTOCK AND PEOPLE”

Sirac: “We go up to the highlands every year to make our living. Every year, the Turkish state bombs our livestock and our people. We live under extremely harsh circumstances.

They invaded our lands, and they are bombing us. We do not accept this. Every year they bomb our people. They occupy our lands and kill our people. We do not accept this.”

“WE DO NOT ACCEPT THE TURKISH STATE TYRANNY”

Sacan: “We don’t want fighter jets bombing us and our children. We don’t accept others’ tyranny against us. For us, our lands are more beautiful than anywhere else on earth. We don’t want Turkish state presence here. We want to live on our lands in peace and keep our animals. The Turkish state fighter jets bomb us. 4 people lost their lives from our family due to the bombing.”
