People's Assembly gather in Afrin
Afrin People's Assembly has gathered for the evaluation of the six months period of work and the planning of works for the new period.
The meeting was attended by 700 people including the representatives of political parties, non-governmental organizations, peoples living in the region as well as leaders of the Arab Bobena and Imêrata tribes. The meeting ended with the announcement of conplete support to the transitonal administration recently announced in west Kurdistan.
Making a speech here, Syrian Kurdistan Democratic Party leader Remzi Şêxmus called for unity.
Şeyh Ebu İbrahim Elxezali, leader of the Imêrata tribe, one of the biggest Arab tribes, and president of the Assembly for the Brotherhood of Peoples, voiced support to the formation of a transitional government in Syrian Kurdistan.
Attendees also formed committees to deal with the new elections of Efrin People's Assembly, and the election of members of the Assembly.
Assembly President Etuf Ebdo greeted Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and the resistance of the YPG (People's Defense Units) and YPJ (Women's Defense Units), and underlined that their works in the new period will be aimed at gaining success.
