The Presidential and Parliamentary elections were held on 14 May. The second round of the Presidential elections will be held on 28 May. The parliamentary elections were marked by fraud and votes, especially for the Greens and the Left Party, were attributed to the MHP and other parties.

HDP Istanbul MP Musa Piroğlu spoke about the second round of the presidential elections.

He said that Erdoğan could not win in the first round, and added that although they did not get the result they wanted, Erdoğan lost despite all his cheating and stealing votes. "Erdoğan did not win the first round. We stopped him. Despite all his cheating and our votes, Erdoğan did not win. We know that in the past, Erdogan said that ‘the one who took the horse passed Üsküdar,’ had to accept the second round as a result of this election. Now we are preparing hard for this second round, as we do not have either the time or the luxury to despair, demoralize, retreat. We will win this election. We have faced this government and others like it many times, Erdoğan will eventually lose and we will be the winners."
