PKK anniversary celebrated in Germany and France

Founded on 27 November 1978, the PKK was celebrated in its 41st anniversary with events in Stuttgart and Hamburg in Germany, Bordeaux and Lyon in France.

Events are taking place all over Europe to celebrate the 41st anniversary of the PKK.

STUTTGART

The 41st anniversary of the PKK was celebrated in Stuttgart. Photos of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan as well as KCK Executive Council member Zeki Şengali and HPG commander Atakan Mahir were decorating the hall where the celebration was held. The event started with a minute silence.

PYD representative Zozan Rojava recalled that Kurds are facing the heavy and violent attacks launched by their enemies in the process of revolution with great morale and determination.  Koma Mir, Koma Hezex, Şiyar and artist Deniz Deman performed during the celebration.

HAMBURG

A mass celebration took place in Hamburg to celebrate the PKK anniversary. Many German politicians and activists including Hamburg Die Linke MP Martin Dolzer joined the celebration in the Phönix Wedding Hall in Harburg.

Kurdish politician Şervan Bingöl delivered a speech after co-chairs of Hamburg DKTM Abuzer Bilenler and Birgül Özpolat greeted the participants.

Bingöl stated that the PKK movement was based on resistance: "By defeating death with the prison resistance, the legacy of the resistance was left to us by Commander Agit."

Former HDP Şırnak deputy Faysal Sarıyıldız also delivered a speech at the commemoration.

The hall was decorated with photos of PKK' leading cadres Mahsum Korkmaz, Kemal Pir, Sakine Cansız, Mehmet Karasungur as well as the martyrs.

Artists Pınar Aydınlar, Koma Silbus û Tarî, Celoviiz, Bengin Efrînî, Lorenz Amudî and Govenda Sipan Amara Folklore Group were part of the cultural program.

BORDEAUX

The 41st anniversary of the PKK was celebrated in Bordeaux by hundreds of Kurdish and French activists. During the celebration, DTM co-chairs Mehmet Varto and Bedia Rojava made speeches. "For 41 years this struggle has resisted with the spirit of the many Çiçek Botan, Çiyager and Delal Amed".

LYON

The 41st anniversary of the establishment of the PKK was celebrated in Lyon. Kurdish politician Kemal Aktaş spoke at the night, which was organised by the Mesopotamia Cultural Association.

Recalling that 22 young people took a decision in Lice which will open a new page in the history of Kurdistan, Aktaş said: “As a result of this decision and the determined stance of the PKK founders and fighters, the enemy found itself in a difficult situation, which forced it to make a coup."
