PM Erdoğan visited Amed municipality for the first time

Turkish premier Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has visited Diyarbakır city council today. It is the first time the PM visits the Kurdish city's municipality. Here he had a closed door meeting with Amed mayor Osman Baydemir and BDP deputies.

The Prime Minister is on a two days visit to  Diyarbakır. On his arrival he was met, among others, by the BDP deputies Sırrı Sakık, Altan Tan, Esat Canan and independent deputy Leyla Zana as well as by the city's governor, businessmen and other personalities.

Commenting on the visit to the city, DTK co-chair Ahmet Türk, said: "We consider this visit as a further step toward the solution of the Kurdish question". Mayor Baydemir added his meeting with the PM was "good and a new opportunity to use the language of peace and brotherhood among our peoples".
