Police and troops attack people at Kobanê border
Thousands continue to flock to the Suruç-Kobanê border since early today in solidarity with the Kobanê resistance on the first day of the Eid amidst highly intense security measures taken by large number of troops and policie forces deployed across border districts, towns and villages.
Turkish troops and police forces have staged a crackdown on people joining the resistanve vigil in the village of Etmanek as they marched to the tent city established by AFAD in the Suleiman Shah Park to pay an Eid visit to the people from Kobanê sheltered here.
The intense tear gas fired by security forces targeted not only those coming from the Etmanek village but also those sheltered at the camp.
The people are responding to the attack with stones as security forces are continuing to attack the people who have dispersed to the hills around.
Soldiers also fired intense tear gas in the village of Etmanek despite no activities taking place on the side of the people on resistance vigil. The intervention has left a woman injured.
