Members of the Workers' Party of Turkey (TIP) gathered in front of the Istanbul Provincial party’s building to protest the sale of tents by the Red Crescent to the AHBAP Association. Police beat and detained the young members.

Lawyers and members of the Central Executive Committee were among the members of TIP taken into custody by the police. Some of those detained were volunteers who went to Hatay to help the victims of the earthquake.
