Thousands continue gathering in Istanbul's Bakırköy district for the May Day rally which is not being held in the symbolic Taksim Square this year.

Police forces attacked the people in the HDP cortege that also included co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ. One HDP administrator got heavily injured as a result of the attack and many others were affected by intense tear gas fired on the cortege.

As tension in the area continues, those in HDP cortege are chanting “Long Live the resistance in Nisebin, Amed, Cizre, Sur" and saluting those resisting in Kurdistan.
