Members of the People's Liberation Party (HKP) were attacked by police on Wednesday as they tried to reach Taksim Square to celebrate Workers' Day. The party members had gathered at Besiktas Barbaros Boulevard when they were attacked by police.
A number of people were taken into custody after being beaten up by police. Among them are HKP council member and Izmir Province President, lawyer Tacettin Çolak and HKP council member and Bursa Province President, lawyer Halil Ağırgöl.
