Police attacked vigil in front of Bakırköy Prison, detained 4

The Turkish regime's repression against those demanding the end of the isolation of Abdullah Öcalan, continues.

Police attacked the mothers holding a vigil in front of Bakırköy Prison in solidarity with prisoners on hunger strike against the isolation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The mothers, accompanied by HDP MPs Meral Danış Beştaş and Gülistan Koçyiğit, were attacked with tear gas. Two mothers and two lawyers from Libertarian Lawyers’ Association (ÖHD) were taken into custody.

In a previous attack against the vigil in front of Bakırköy Prison, police had detained 15 people on May 2nd. The detainees were released later on.
