According to allegations, three gunmen have abducted a police officer late last night in Çatak, a district of Van.

Turkish Military Forces launched an operation immediately after the event, while another military operation in the Besta area of Pervari, a district of Siirt, is still underway.

According to reports coming through at least 19 people have been taken into custody in Van and 10 in Çatak. Among the 19 people arrested in Van, 4 are believed to be guerrillas.

The 10 people arrested in Çatak have been detained in the operation which followed the abduction of the policemen by three masked gunmen.
