New police operation targets ESP members

As the elections approach, the attacks by the AKP-MHP government are increasing. During an operation targeting ESP members, many people, including ESP co-chair Şahin Tümüklü, were detained.
Many ESP, SKM, ETHA and SGDF members were taken into custody following raids carried out in 8 cities within the scope of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Among those detained are the co-chair of the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP), Şahin Tümüklü, the editor of the ETHA news agency (ETHA), Nadiye Gürbüz, and candidates for the Greens and Left Future Party (Green Left Party).
The Oppressed Law Office shared the following post on its Twitter account: “We learned that many of our clients from ESP, SKM, ETHA and SGDF were detained in a police operation as part of an investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The file has confidentiality and lawyer restrictions.”
Among those detained are: ESP co-chair Şahin Tümüklü, ETHA editor Nadiye Namoğlu Gürbüz, ESP PM member Uğur Ok, Green Left Party Istanbul Candidate Burcu Ayyıldız, Green Left Party İzmir candidate Meryem Yıldırım, Green Left Party Eskişehir candidate Müslüm Koyun, Serdal Işık, Leyla Can, Sadrettin Polat, Selfinaz Göçmen, Hasan Polat, Sinem Çelebi, Kalender Polat, Merve Havalı, Bedran Çoğaltay, Adnan Özcan, Ebrar Uz, F. Deniz Kanpolat, Tuncay Yıldırım Özen.
