Police raid wedding and detain musician in Adana

The Turkish police raided a wedding in Adana and arrested a musician who sang Kurdish songs.

In the Seyhan district of Adana, police raided a wedding party last night because of Kurdish music played in the ceremony.

Musician Mecit Özlü was attacked and insulted by the police, his microphone was taken away and thrown to the ground. Wedding guests interfered and prevented further violence.

Musician Özlü was arrested for "organizational propaganda" and taken to the police headquarters in Adana. After procedures at the police department, he has been released Sunday afternoon.
