Young people in Adana have been protesting the arrest of 9 HDP parliamentarians including the Co-Presidents Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ in Adana’s Seyhan, Yüreğir and Ceyhan districts. Clashes between the youth and the police intensified last night, and police officers shot and injured a young person in Seyhan.

Protestors gathered in the Ova Avenue of Ova neighborhood in Seyhan district and condemned the policies of the AKP government. Police attacked the protestors with tear gas canisters, pressurized water and real bullets, and a young person got injured as he was shot in his foot.

Clashes also broke out in the Dağlıoğlu, Fırat and Barbaros neighborhoods of Seyhan, Anadolu, 19 Mayıs and Başka neighborhoods of Yüreğir, and Belediyeevleri, Yersuat, 6 Ocak and Esentepe neighborhoods of Ceyhan.
