The police stopped the press statement about the hunger strikes that the Marmara Solidarity with Prisons Initiative wanted to hold in front of the Bakirkoy Closed Women’s Prison.
The Marmara Solidarity with Prisons Initiative (MZDI) was to hold a press statement in front of the Bakirkoy Closed Women’s Prison about the ongoing hunger strikes led by DTK Co-chair and HDP MP Leyla Guven, but the protest was stopped by the police.
The police cited the Istanbul Governorate’s ban for preventing the protest and stopped the crowd by the prison.
The police also confiscated the photographs and videos taken by journalists following the story.
