The 66th hearing of the main Kurdish Communities Union (KCK) trial has started at Diyarbakýr 6th High Criminal Court. 175 people, 108 currently in prison, are tried within the scope of the KCK Diyarbakýr case, including Kurdish politicians, Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) mayors, human rights defenders and journalists.
Thirteen defendants, including BDP mayor Hatip Dicle, aren't attending the trial in Diyarbakýr. Mersin's Akdeniz Municipalty Mayor M. Fazýl Türk and BDP deputy Nursel Aydoðan are also joining the trial which is continuing with Viranþehir mayor Leyla Güven's speech on three Kurdish women assassinated in Paris on 9 January.
