The uprisings in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran that broke out after the violent death of Jina Mahsa Amini in mid-September continue. According to the human rights organisation Hengaw, a general strike is taking place in Sine (Sanandaj), Seqiz (Saqqez), Mêrîwan (Mariwan) and Mahabad. "Since the beginning of the strikes in the cities of Kurdistan, access to the internet has been completely cut off," Hengaw reported. Nevertheless, videos of protests and the brutal actions of the security forces keep appearing on the net. Street protests also continue in Kirmaşan (Kermanshah).

According to Hengaw, the judicial authorities in several Kurdish cities are demanding cash bail from the families for the provisional release of detained demonstrators. Exact figures on the number of those arrested and detained are not available.

Riots are also reported in other cities in Iran. In Ahvaz in Khuzestan province on the Persian Gulf, Arab activists took to the streets chanting "Jin Jiyan Azadî" (Woman Life Freedom). In Zahedan in the south-eastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan, where at least 66 people were killed on "Bloody Friday" a fortnight ago, anti-government protests again took place after Friday prayers. Actions by students are reported from Tehran.

Reports are coming through of a brutal arrest of a young woman in the street by Basij forces in civilian clothes in Karaj. A video shows bystanders being threatened with weapons.
