Serbest Mustafa, president of Iraq's Independent high electoral commission, told after a meeting in Erbil that all preparations have been completed for the parliamentary elections to be held on September 21 in the regional administration of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Preparations conducted to hold a transparent vote have finished,the electoral official said and added that that civilians would cast their votes on September 21, but employees for Interior Ministry, security, hospital and prison staff would vote on Sept. 19.

Mustafa remarked that they were acting in accordance with the world's standards and urged everyone to be transparent.

3,119 observers, including 192 foreigners, and 628 journalists will monitor the elections and follow the polls.
