Zübeyde Zümrüt, co-chair of KON-MED and a member of the Newroz Organizing Committee, spoke about the Newroz celebration that will take place in Frankfurt on Saturday, March 19. “The final preparations for the Newroz celebration in Frankfurt Rebstock have been completed. Representatives of institutions from four parts of Kurdistan will make speeches during the event,” she said.

“Assemblies, communes and institutions affiliated with us all over Germany arranged buses to transport our people to Newroz celebrations.

We should celebrate this year's Newroz to create an opportunity to free thousands of prisoners, including Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

She remarked that the genocidal attacks and political genocide against the Kurds would be denounced.

“Representatives from the CDU, SPD, Die Linke and numerous other parties will attend the Newroz and share their messages of solidarity. Our people and friends should attend Newroz broadly this year and give the necessary response to the fascist AKP/MHP.”

“Our Newroz event will start at 10:00 on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Koma Bajar and artists Şehrîbana Kurdî, Nasir Rezazî, Hozan Dîno, Xecê, Sherif Omerî and Koroya Dengê Mesopotamya will appear on stage. Moreover, traditional Kurdish folk dancing will be performed during the celebrations,” Zümrüt added.
