Prisoner Sinem Oğuz: 102 days on hunger strike

Sinem Oğuz is one of the 3000 prisoners on indefinite hunger strike demanding the end of isolation against imprisoned Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Sinem Oğuz has been in prison for four years. She is in Bünyan Women Closed Prison.

She has been on hunger strike for 102 days. She is one of the 3000 prisoners on indefinite hunger strike demanding the end of isolation against imprisoned Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

She joined the hunger strike resistance led by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven.

Öcalan has been held in a Turkish prison since 1999 and denied access to his lawyers since 2011 and only allowed very brief family visits to check he is alive in recent years.
