Protest against Turkish war crimes in Heilbronn

In Heilbronn a demonstration was staged against the Turkish war crimes in Kurdistan. The demonstrators demanded an end to the Turkish war of aggression and an end to economic, political and military cooperation with Turkey.

At the Kiliansplatz in Heilbronn there was a protest against the Turkish war crimes in Kurdistan. Speeches were given to inform about current developments and criticize the lack of reaction from the German Federal Republic and the EU to Turkey's legal violations.

In a statement by the Kurdish youth organisations JCA/TCŞ, it was said: "Erdogan is not invading Syria, Libya, Iraq to introduce peace. He is invading in order to realise his Greater Ottoman dream and destroy peace. While wars of aggression are taking place in Syria and Iraq, the Turkish foreign and tourism ministers are received in Germany to discuss the lifting of Turkey's travel warning. Once again, war criminals and professed fascists are being courted by the German state.

Rojava represents an alternative for all people worldwide who disagree with the existing situation and are looking for solutions to the ecological, political, economic and social crisis, according to the JCA/TCŞ, which added: "Therefore it is our responsibility to continue to defend Rojava against the interests of power and profit.”

The youth organisations made the following demands: "The Turkish state must stop the invasion and immediately leave the areas it has occupied in Rojava as well as Iraq. An international court must be established to investigate the massacres, crimes against humanity and war crimes against the civilian population and the use of chemical weapons. Turkey and Erdoğan must be brought before the court. We call for a boycott of tourism and goods against Turkey in order to stop financing the war. In this context, we also call for an immediate stop to economic, political and military cooperation with Turkey.

At the end of the rally a provocation of a Turkish nationalist was made by a fascist "wolf salute" and he was sent away by the police.
