On the occasion of the World Day of Peace, a rally took place in Basel. The ADGB alliance declared that the peoples are paying the price for the wars in Kurdistan and Ukraine.
The Alliance of Democratic Forces in Europe (ADGB) called for a protest in Basel on the occasion of the World Day of Peace on 1 September under the slogan "No to war and massacres, peace now".
The alliance's statement was delivered by activist Fahriye Usta, who explained that the wars in Ukraine and Kurdistan were an acute threat to coexistence and meant impoverishment and massacres. In Kurdistan and Turkey, she said, the state was trying to incite people to hate each other and to incite racism. “However, this hatred is also widespread in Europe. In Europe, racism and hostility are threatening to spread, because in the face of the crisis, attempts are being made to shift the responsibility for it onto migrants. It is a human task to fight against the wars, occupation, racism, destruction of nature, fascism and exploitation created by the imperialist capitalist system.”
