On the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the foundation of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), a celebration was held in the town of Lengnau in the canton of Aarau, Switzerland.

The celebration started with a minute's silence in memory of the freedom martyrs of Kurdistan. PYD Switzerland representative Abbas Omar made the opening speech.

Omas was followed by PYD Europe Representative Zozan Derik, who said: "The Rojava revolution, which was inspired by the paradigm of leader Öcalan, has set an example for the entire Europe today. All our people living in four parts of Kurdistan will continue to endorse the resistance against the attacks of the Turkish state, betrayal and oppression. With our resistance, we will liberate our Leader."

The celebration ended with a concert by artists Xelil Xemgin, Bengin Agiri, Sewdan Sexe, Rojinda and Kawa Urmiye.
