PYD calls for active participation in Kobanê Day rallies
The Democratic Union Party (PYD) has issued a call for active participation in the 1 November Global Day for Kobanê. The PYD stressed that the diplomatic activities of the democratic autonomous administration had made a significant contribution to the creation of this awareness.
The PYD statement added that the declaration of the 1 November Global Day for Kobanê indicated a strategic change in the international view of Kurdish ideals, adding: “The public has seen the historic heroic resistance in Kobanê, which is opposing the ISIS terrorists and representing the joint values of humanity.”
‘The YPG/YPJ and Burkan Al Firat represent legitimate defence’
The PYD said that the forces defending Kobanê had understood the nature of the gangs they were fighting and the groups that were supporting them, adding that the YPG/YPJ and Burkan Al-Firat forces represented legitimate defence and the joint values of humanity. The statement said they also represented the free citizens of the democratic autonomous administration, adding: “The reality behind the attacks on Kobanê is that this project has scared certain circles who do not recognise the will of the people.”
The PYD statement stressed that even with modern heavy weaponry the gangs had not been able to break the resistance of the people and realise their aims, pointing out that the plans of the new-age Nazis to take Kobanê had failed, calling on all their supporters to take part in the rallies on international Kobanê day.
The PYD greeted all NGOs and intellectuals who played a role in 1 November being declared Global Day for Kobanê and called on everyone, Kurd, Syrian and parties believing in the fraternity of peoples to take ownership of the Kobanê resistance.
The PYD renewed their pledge to persist with their construction of democratic change and joint life, adding: “We will follow the path illuminated by the blood of the YPG and YPJ fighters who have fallen in the struggle.”
