Two Kurdish students in the western province of Çanakkale were targeted by a racist attack and one of them was detained by soldiers after the incident.

Selahattin Öztekin and Volkan Tan studying at the vocational school of higher education in Biga district of Çanakkale were attacked by a racist group of seven people while on their way home yesterday evening.

The violent attack caused fractures on the head of Öztekin who was referred to Çanakkale state hospital while Tan was taken into custody by soldiers who arrived the scene after the incident, and taken to Biga Gendarme Command.
