Rally in Berlin to support hunger strike resistance

Activists underlined that remaining silent is not an option and indeed would mean to be partners in crime of the Turkish government.

A rally was held in Berlin to support the hunger strike and death fast resistance demanding the end of isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The rally was held at the Brandenburger Tor, where the German Parliament building and many embassies and consulates are located. The action was promoted by Berlin Young Women and Tevgera Shoreşgere Ciwanen and was joined by Kurdish institutions in Berlin.

The rally began with a minute's silence. Activists were carrying photos of many hunger strikers as well as of Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Speaking at the rally, activists reminded that over 7000 prisoners are on hunger strike and 30 are on death fast. Dozens of activists are fasting in many cities in Europe and in Toronto. Activists also underlined that remaining silent is not an option and indeed would mean to be partners in crime of the Turkish government.
