The website of the Turkish Justice Academy was hacked by the left-wing hackers group RedHack last night. The attack was carried out in protest against the arrest of nine lawyers affiliated to the Contemporary Lawyers Association (ÇHD), including Association President Selçuk Kozaðaçlý, on Monday.
In a statement on the attack, the group condemned the arrest of lawyers via their Twitter account, saying; We will not abandon our comrades who are being held hostages in the hands of the courts of fascism."
The group, whose slogan is Halk için Hack (Hack for the People), was listed as a terrorist organization last July following a series of virtual attacks it carried out against Turkish state institutions and organizations. The Redhack team had earlier attacked the websites of the Interior Minister, Security General Directorate and Police Headquarter in Ankara and published some of the information it had drawn out of these websites.
