The remains of Salih Tuğrul, who died as a result of a stroke in Siirt E Type Closed Prison, were sent to his hometown, Siirt.
Salih Tuğrul was released on 13 December 2014, as he suffered a stroke while in prison and lost his memory.
Tuğrul, who was imprisoned for 18 years, had two heart attacks while in prison in 2007 and then became partially paralyzed.
Tuğrul passed away on Wednesday, 15 December at Mersin City Hospital, where he was treated.
His family and members of Çukurova Association for Assistance with Families of Prisoners and Convicts (TUAY-DER) took the body from the morgue and sent it to Siirt to be buried.
