Remembering 'Orso' by helping the Rojava Women's Foundation

Lorenzo 'Orso' fought in the Rojava Revolution, side by side with the YPG and YPJ and fell martyr in Baghouz, Deir Ezzor, on 18 March, as a result of an ambush by DAESH.

Today marks the first anniversary of the Lorenzo Orsetti "Orso" (Tekoşer Piling) death.

Lorenzo 'Orso' fought in the Rojava Revolution, side by side with the YPG and YPJ and fell martyr in Baghouz, Deir ez-Zor, on 18 March, as a result of an ambush by DAESH (ISIS).

The family of Lorenzo has decided to remember the Italian partisan today by inviting everyone to offer what they can to allow the mobile centre directed by the Rojava Women's Foundation to buy a 3D ultrasound.

The family wrote in a message: "Prevention is one of the crucial principles on which the construction of a public and free health service is based for all the populations of northeastern Syria. The Rojava Women's Foundation in recent years has developed a health network capable of reaching rural areas and today also refugee camps built to accommodate the thousands of refugees who fled the war during the last Turkish attack of 9 October 2019.

The Foundation works to guarantee them relief and health care. For this purpose, it requires financial resources and above all health material. The 3D ultrasound can be used in many medical fields and through the use of images, it will allow for the early diagnosis of polypathologies which, if highlighted promptly, can be adequately treated."
