Mass demonstrations have taken place across the country on Saturday as more and more people have taken to the streets to display support with Taksim resistance.
More than 380 protestors were injured, 15 seriously, in clashes in the Turkish capital Ankara on Saturday, DIHA (Dicle News Agency) reported.
The police attack on demonstrators started early in the morning and are still continuing in the main Kızılay Square. Some 50 thousand people took to the streets. Police used excessive force and tear gas against demonstrators supporting the Taksim resistance growing on the sixth day now.
Clashes also broke in İzmir, not only between protestors and police, but also between protestors and groups affiliated to the ruling AKP's youth organization.
Some demonstrators were reportedly beaten by these groups and police. Many were injured in clashes which are still continuing in Alsancak with police and AKP supporters attacking together against protestors.
BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) İzmir office was attacked by a provocative group in the evening.
Clashes restarted in Taksim and Beşiktaş at midnight after police pulled back from Gezi Park and Taksim Square at around 16.00 local time.
Thousands also staged a mass demo in Adana where police attacked protestors as they wanted to march to the AKP Adana office. Dozens were injured. Clashes are going on at the midnight.
People in Mersin were also in areas today, displaying solidarity with Taksim protestors and calling on the government to resign. Police attacked the protestors here as well, injuring dozens of people and taking many others into custody. Clashes lasted till midnight. A mass rally will take place tomorrow as well.
