Rise up against war - rise up for solidarity!

Activists blocked the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control in Eschborn and demanded a stop to arms exports.

About 100 activists blocked the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) in Eschborn near Frankfurt on Tuesday. The activists voiced their rejection of war and arms exports and their solidarity with all those who take to the streets worldwide for freedom, democracy and a just world, whether in Chile, Lebanon or Rojava.

"The German Federal Administrative Authority BAFA is one of two instances that can approve or deny the export of military equipment and weapons from Rheinmetall, Thyssen Krupp, SIG Sauer etc. The latter usually does not happen," explained the activists and criticized that German weapons are used in many crisis and war zones and that especially the large arms companies benefit from this.

The activists called on the BAFA to immediately suspend all licences for military equipment. "The authority and its employees must end their complicity in wars that violate international law, as is currently happening in northern Syria or Yemen," the leaflet published under the heading "Rise up against war - rise up for solidarity" read.
