Parliamentary Uludere Sub-Commission President, AKP Ordu deputy Ýhsan Þener has spoken about some points highlighted in the report on Roboski massacre which was supposed to have been released in mid December.
According to Þener, the report says that the bombardment by warplanes was carried out "in line with the usual hierarchic procedure for cross-border operations". Þener said that the incident was not the result of "a deliberate act but a mistake". The AKP deputy remarked the Chief of Defence might have given the order to fire, adding that the general staff didn't share all documents with the commission.
Referring to the people killed in the bombing, the report says that “They weren't killed for being Kurd, it was a matter of specific security and vulnerability in the region due to border security”.
The conclusion part of the report is not ready yet as it requires the meeting of the commission which has failed to hold its two earlier announced meetings on 6 and 13th December. According to Þener, in the report the reason for the delay of its release is explained as "intention to prevent the report from being used for political purposes at the anniversary of the massacre".
