Roboski report delayed once more
The Parliamentary Human Rights Special Commission which should have released its report on the massacre of Roboski on 28 February has postponed publication for another week. Roboski families reacted angrily to the decision stating that this is yet another evidence that justice is being denied for the 34 people (mostly youth) killed by Turkish warplanes on 28 Dcember 2011.
The report by the Commission was originally to be published by mid December. But it was postponed to 28 February. Yesterday news came of yet another delay.
Speaking to DIHA News Agency, Emine Encü, mother of Celal Encü, one of the victims, said the mothers will continue to search for justice.
Father of another victim, Serhat Encü, Abdullah Encü underlined that more than one year passed and yet no justice and no truth have been brought about. He added: "We, the Roboski families, don't want money, we want justice, we want truth. We want peace".
Serhat Encü's sister Funda Encü insisted the responsbiles of the massacre are to be found "in the ruling AKP (Justice and Development Party)" and underlined, "If they had no part in the massacre, they would have release the report a long time ago. But because they had a part in the massacre they just don't want truth to come out. They are trying to cover up the truth about what really happened that night".
Cemal Encü's mother Hazal Encü said: "We don't believe the AKP government will shed light on the massacre. If they were genuine about searching for the truth, they would have run this inquiry in a different way. We will not stop asking for justice".
