Some 22 thousand people who fled from Rojava to North Kurdistan have turned back to West Kurdistan in the last one and a half month.
Speaking about the return of Rojava immigrants to their homeland, Mistefe Ehmet, an official at Şenyurt border gate between Mardin's Kızıltepe district and the Dirbêsiyê city, said that most of the immigrants have returned due to complaints over the ill-treatment of Turkish officials. “ Immigrants are turning back because of the severe conditions they have been subject to since their migration from Rojava”, Ehmet underlined.
Immigrant Eli Yunis who also voiced complaints about the mistreatment of Kurdish immigrants by Turkish officials said they mainly had problems with high prices of food and house rents in the places they migrated to.
Another immigrant who asked to be mentioned unnamed remarked that Turkey provided restricted assistance for Rojava immigrants who -he said- have turned back to western Kurdistan for failing to find a work and earn money for their basic daily needs.
