According to the Iraqi media reports, a document signed by Muqtada Sadr and published on Thursday stated that the name of the Sadrist Movement was changed to the National Shia Movement.

In recent days, the Sadrist Movement and its parliamentarians who resigned from the parliament have organised mass meetings.

The Sadrist Group led by Muqtada Sadr in the Iraqi Parliament, decided to withdraw from the political arena in June 2022. The Sadrist Movement announced in a statement that they had decided not to participate in any elections.
