The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have militarized the Kurdish city of Sanandaj (Sine) following the demonstrations in the city of Mariwan against the surge of executions of Kurdish political prisoners, in the past week.

According to witnesses quoted by E-Kurd, the IRGC are heavily present in the city, attempting to prevent any form of demonstration that might take place in the city. Security forces are also found in various locations of the city in civilian clothes.

The people of Mariwan took part in a peaceful demonstration condemning the surge of executions of Kurdish political prisoners on Tuesday, November 5th.
